During the Chianti Classico Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, May 11th, 2025, in Mercatale Val di Pesa, participants will enjoy a rich and well-organized network of refreshment points across all three race distances.
Each station will offer genuine local products, designed to provide both energy and a taste of the Chianti region’s authentic flavors. Depending on the route, refreshments will include: fresh fruit, bread with jam, bread with hazelnut spread, bread with extra virgin olive oil, bread with sugar and wine, water, mineral supplements, cola, and of course, Chianti Classico wine.
Ultratrail – 53 km
There will be eight refreshment stations along the ultratrail course, located at:
- Km 7.8 – Torriano
- Km 15.3 – Villa Fabbricca
- Km 19 – Santa Maria a Macerata
- Km 24.5 – Poggio al Vento
- Km 30.8 – Fattoria di Rignana
- Km 36.5 – Montefioralle
- Km 42 – Castello di Verrazzano
- Km 47 – Castel Vari
In the event of high temperatures, an additional liquid-only station will be set up 2 km before the finish line at Castello di Gabbiano.
Trail – 21.8 km
The mid-distance trail will feature three refreshment points, located at:
- Km 5.8 – Santa Maria a Macerata
- Km 11.5 – Castello di Verrazzano
- Km 16.8 – Castel Vari
A liquid-only station will also be available 2 km before the finish line at Castello di Gabbiano, in case of particularly hot weather.
10 km Route – Nordic Walking and Leisure Walk
This route includes a special food and wine refreshment point at km 5, located at Fattoria Il Querceto. Here, participants will enjoy a variety of Tuscan specialties, such as:
- Ribollita (Tuscan bread soup)
- Pappa al pomodoro (tomato and bread soup)
- Farro salad
- Tuscan crostini with liver pâté
- Bruschetta
- Bread with extra virgin olive oil
- Bread with wine and sugar
- Bread with hazelnut spread
- Fruit tarts
- Bananas
- Water, tea, cola, mineral supplements
- Chianti Classico wine
