An unmissable event of sport, nature, and Tuscan traditions
Registrations officially open on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, for the 7th edition of the Chianti Classico Marathon 2025, scheduled for May 11th, 2025, with the start and finish in Mercatale in Val di Pesa. This unique event promises to combine sport, breathtaking landscapes, and authentic flavors of the Tuscan region, right in the heart of the Chianti Fiorentino.
The marathon is refreshed and offers participants three routes tailored to different levels of preparation and ambition:
- Ultratrail 53 km
The big news this year is the extension of the ultratrail distance, which increases from 47.8 km to 53 km. This renewed and even more exciting course will pass through some of the most stunning scenery of the Chianti Classico, with new sections that will challenge even the most experienced athletes.
- Trail 21.8 km
A medium-length route that allows participants to fully enjoy the trail running experience in Chianti, with challenging elevation gains and breathtaking views of vineyards and Tuscan hills.
- Leisure walk and Nordic Walking 10 km
For those who prefer to enjoy the landscape in a more relaxed manner, without the pressure of competition, a 10 km route is available for leisure walking or Nordic Walking. This itinerary offers a delightful gourmet stop with tastings of local products, giving participants a moment of relaxation and flavor among the typical tastes of the region.
Throughout the event, participants will be immersed in the charm of the Chianti hills, among vineyards, historic villages, and olive groves, for an unforgettable day dedicated to nature and the discovery of a territory rich in traditions.
Final lunch and Pasta Party
As tradition holds, at the end of the two competitive distances (53 km and 21.8 km), a final lunch will be organized for all participating runners—an opportunity to relax and celebrate together after the race.
Additionally, Pasta Party vouchers will be available for companions, until all spots are filled, allowing everyone to take part in this moment of conviviality and sharing.
Registration and services
Registration opens on Tuesday, October 15th with various route options to suit every level of preparation. During the event, all essential services will be provided, such as showers at the school gym in Via dei Cofferi, just 200 meters from the start and finish area.
