On May 14th, 1924, thirty-three wine producers gathered in Radda in Chianti to establish the Consortium for the Protection of Chianti’s Typical Wine and its Origin Brand. Thus, today’s Chianti Classico Consortium was born, the first Italian protection consortium. To pay homage to an anniversary that has grown one of Italy’s most representative brands over the last century, safeguarding and promoting the product that best represents us, the Chianti Classico Marathon will award only this year the 100th finisher of the ultratrail.
